By Naruto Novels: Konoha Shinden and Sasuke Retsuden get Manga Adaptation in 2022
The Jump Festa ‘22 event announced that two of the Naruto novels: Konoha Shinden and Sasuke Retsuden will be getting a manga adaption next summer in 2022. These spin-off light novels are getting a manga adaptation to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Shonen franchise set by Masashi Kishimoto. An official tweet was also made by the official Boruto: Naruto’s Next Generations’ Twitter account, revealing the details for the manga adaptations.
Sasuke Retsuden or Naruto Novel: Sasuke’s Story—The Uchiha and the Heavenly Stardust
Sasuke Retsuden is a spin-off Naruto Light Novel written by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Kishimoto himself. The novel is just 226 pages long with a total of 8 chapters. The manga series will most probably be drawn by Shingo Kimura.
The story of Sasuke Retsuden takes place between the events of Naruto Shippuden and Boruto: Naruto’s Next Generations where it shows the married couple, Sasuke and Sakura out on a dangerous mission. It’s one of the most famous Naruto Novels as it focuses on Sasuke’s and Sakura’s relationship, something which fans weren’t able to see in the anime or manga. Sasuke never liked Sakura, and fans often debate on their relationship. But this novel has moments where the couple shows affection and care for each there.
Sasuke Retsuden getting a manga adaptation is a huge hype for the SasuSaku fans and it may change the views of other Naruto fans. Unlike the other novel Konoha Shinden, which was adapted into the anime Boruto: Naruto next generations, we don’t know if we’ll get an anime adaptation for Sasuke Retsuden or they may release a separate OVA for this spin-off series. For now, the manga will be adapted in summer 2022.
Konoha Shinden: Steam Ninja Scrolls
Konoha Shinden is a 256 pages long Naruto Light Novel written by Shō Hinata. It has a total of five chapters. It features the trio of Kakashi, Guy, and Mirai, the daughter of Asuma, out on a secret mission “a vacation”. The story takes place at the same time as Naruto chapter 700 and ends at the same time as Naruto Gaiden chapter 700+10. The light novel was actually adapted into the anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The manga will be hopefully drawn by Natsuo Sai.
These announcements made by the Naruto franchise have hyped the fans even more as they are already waiting for the time skip of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
